You know we are only on a raincheck don't you?

and that normal service for us Jackie Girlz will be resumed shortly?

OK, she's right, it was the toe that started it :)

Better my way, but

It was this very toe, in fact. Look - all broken, and everything.

How much sympathy do you think I got? Not very much, that's how much :)

But I DID get this fabulous card.

And as Alison says, in her historically accurate way, that's what started off this whole craaaaaaazy journey :) (I think maybe Jim Carrey for that bit? What do you think?)

"What about the sharks??"

"I'll fight them off"

swoon :)

It really started with a toe

The same toe my esteemed colleague and Jackophile broke.

I was searching for an image to use on her 'get well soon toe' card and came across a page from a 1970's copy of 'Jackie' that was in my ephemera bag. Let me explain my thinking (who am I talking to? Only the Flowster will read it, until the mini series and movie anwyay - it's a film!!!!).

I am a smitten kitten who has hard stuff to deal with and at times it feels like the only thing that keeps me going is love. So here was the 'Jackie' page - a hand drawn story of young love where the hero, Colin, is sweet and loving but also tough and chivalrous. He even feels capable of fighting off a Great White to protect his love - always ambitious those 'Jackie' boys.

Anyway in my fevered brain the shark became the toe and all the attendant hassles and Colin became........ :-) it's a secret. :-)

The card read 'Love Heals All'. I don't actually believe that, I was being ironic but I can tell you what I know to be true. True love, reciprocated, heals an awful lot.

So whoever your 'Jackie' hero is hold on tight to him (or her, no homophobes here :-)) and be grateful you have them.

(Flo that is going to sound fantastic when the narrator reads it at the start of the film!!! Is Richard Burton still dead do you know?)

Seriously. Thank you for this Flo, I love it. I can't wait to get started, it's going to be totally groovy :-)

How it all started......

"Wouldn't it be terribly artistic and highbrow," said Flo to Alison one day, "to work on a pair of collaborative art journals. We could swap them back and forth between ourselves. They would have a cool arty theme, like 'flight', or 'hope'"

"Nah - let's theme them on Jackie magazine, from the 70s", said Alison

"JACKIE MAGAZINE????" said Flo (wondering what weird cocktail of drugs her friend was taking)

"OK :) sounds like fun....."
